Rhode Island

United States 2008

I made the journey to Rhode Island in May 2008 to attend the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America’s National Specialty show, judged by Lisbet Ramsing from the Sennetta’s kennel in Denmark. This visit to the American Specialty was something I had wanted to do for many years, and it was also my first visit to the states which made it even more exciting. I certainly was not disappointed - attending the show was certainly an education in the presentation and showmanship of dog exhibition.

It was a brilliant week, and so nice to be able to see the dogs at the show that I had admired from images on the internet websites and publications. Some of the owners of these multi winning dogs have now become my good friends.

The Best in Show winner was Ch. Backcountry Hildegarde, owned bred and handled by my friend Wendy Bennett from the Backcountry kennel in Canada.
